The Brady FR22 LTE + MUX 16-port EU kit is a scalable fixed RFID solution for organizations that want to set up multiple read zones at locations where fixed network infrastructure is limited or unavailable. This kit combines the Brady FR22 fixed RFID reader with integrated LTE and the Brady MUX16 multiplexer, allowing a single central RFID reader to be used with up to sixteen RFID antennas within a single, well-organized system.

Powerful FR22 LTE RFID reader as the system’s central hub

The FR22 LTE forms the technical core of this solution and is equipped with a next-generation UHF RFID engine based on the latest technology. As a result, the system processes up to 1,000 RFID tags per second, even at high tag density and under heavy use. Support for the ISO 18000-63 EPC Class 1 Gen2 v2 standard ensures compatibility with common UHF RFID tags throughout Europe and in international applications. Thanks to its built-in LTE connectivity, the reader can communicate autonomously via cellular networks without relying on Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Expand to sixteen antennas with the MUX16

The Brady MUX16 multiplexer allows you to expand the number of supported antennas from four to sixteen. This enables you to create multiple read zones using a single central FR22 LTE reader. This is ideal for applications with multiple passageways, racks, production lines, or inspection points. Using a single central reader keeps configuration simple and management straightforward, while significantly increasing RFID coverage.

Efficient installation with power and data via coax

A key technical advantage of the MUX16 is its unique combination of power and data transmission via coaxial cables. This eliminates the need for separate power cables for each antenna, which speeds up installation and reduces cabling. The multiplexer is designed with very low signal loss, ensuring stable RFID performance and high efficiency across all connected antennas.

Linux platform with web-based management and API integration

The FR22 LTE runs on a stable Linux operating system and features a quad-core A7 processor with 1 GB of RAM. You can centrally configure and manage both the RFID reader and the multiplexer via the integrated web management interface. Developers can build their own applications using modern programming languages and leverage the NUR API, RESTful APIs, OPC UA Auto-ID server, and SSH access for seamless integration into existing IT and OT architectures.
