NFC Programming Instructions

You have an NFC card, sticker, or tag in your hands. Great. But now comes the real work: programming. Sound complicated? It’s not. With the right app and a few simple steps, you can program what happens when you tap it. A link to your website, contact information, social media, or a review page? You decide what your NFC does. On this page, we’ll walk you through the process step by step.

Instructions for Android & Apple

Download the free “NFC Tools” app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Then click "Write."

Then click "Add a record."

Choose what you want to program; this is usually a URL.

Next, enter the URL in the blank field and click "OK."

Click "Write" and hold the NFC tag up to your smartphone.

Good to Know

You can always reprogram the cards by following the same steps described above.

You can choose to set either permanent or password protection on the chip. To do this, click “Other” on the home screen.

Only older Apple devices (iPhone X or older) require an app to read the NFC chip.

On all Android devices, the NFC feature must be set to “on.”

Make sure to hold the NFC tag close to the chip inside the device. The chip is usually located above the camera.

Make sure you never place the NFC chip between a wireless charger and a phone, as this can cause the NFC chip to malfunction.
